Evevtful days dudes..
Day before yesterday I went to cochin to meet my friends. After watching a terribly over the top but laughable hindi adult comedy called “Kya cool hai hum” and having food at a shop in M.G Road at 1am, retired for the night.
The following morning, i left for Kothamangalam; where I had done B-tech. It has been a year now since I passed out of MACE but the memories were fresh! The little town that housed more bars than department stores. The hill top hostels that gave a vague but splendid view of the western ghats, in all thier misty beauty. The campus elections, the hostel life, the competitions,
the prizes, the communication- programming- microprocessor labs that seldom gave “outputs”.
The teachers who really did care, and some who didn’t. The friends whom I miss and the ones
I would rather not see. Four years that shaped me, made me the person I am now. It was good.
I met my HOD who talked to me for 20 minutes about bad politics, lack of good teachers( as many had left that year) horrible evaluation form the university, and dad. Somehow he had moistened my eyes. I told him i was coming back next year too. Which I know I will. Then I met my teachers who made me an engineer, and not a bad one at that. It was nice to meet the people who consitituted an island of sanity in an insanely stupid institution ( run by a dumb uncultured caricature of a principal). The I met Amit and Lynn and went out for an icecream treat. Reached home at 11.50 pm .. and go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (aboutthe argument at snoosh.. later)
What I loved most about the journey was..
1. How I took my ticket to cochin, and jumped out at Aleppey to go visit dad’s grave.
2. The fact that Kerala in the monsoon looks more beautiful than anything that i have ever seen. The emerald waters and the semi submerged boats , the red laterite soil complementing the freshest green color on earth. Kerala is truly natures most precious posession. Paradise. Dont argue about the people.. The country has even worse samples.
3. Cochin – as always.

kd.. reading your post has reignited the memories about our college. I too wanted to go there once before I left, somehow couldn’t go – blame it on the tight schedules of an overworked SE, but thats no excuse. Definitely I’ll go there once I come back. Please do mail me about how all the teachers are and any ideas how to contact them over email??
